John C 'Jack' Hough Memorial Law Scholarship (Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law)

Recipient must be a Law School student who meets the following criteria:
(a) Preference will be given to a 2nd or 3rd yr law student (s) who is/are working for compensation, as a volunteer or in a law school internship or other course at the office of the Shelby County Public Defender.
(b) If a student satisfying the requirements of (a) above does not apply for the scholarship, it shall be awarded to a student(s) who express an interest in a career in government service as a public defender or prosecutor or in the field of criminal law.
© Student must be in good academic standing at the School of Law.
(d) Student must demonstrate financial need.
Recipient may be awarded in subsequent years if the above are met.
Renewal is subject to approval of CCH School of Law faculty scholarship committee.
