James and Christopher Gholson Scholarship Fund (Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music)

This award shall be given to

  1. Undergraduate students majoring in Music with a concentration in Music Industry, or
  2. To undergraduate students majoring in Music with a concentration in Music Performance or Music Education with woodwind as the student’s primary instrument.
  3. In addition, the selected recipient(s) must show evidence of musical talent and potential for success evidenced by a successful audition or end-of-semester jury.

Preference will be given to students who:

  1. Individuals who have overcome substantial educational or economic obstacles
  2. Attendance at minority-serving institutions or at other universities with which the institution has established a pipeline or feeder program.
  3. Applicants with distinct backgrounds and experiences will receive special consideration.

Award recipients may reapply for additional awards in subsequent years provided they are:

  1. In good academic standing and
  2. Have a minimum GPA of 2.5, and
  3. Continue to meet the above criteria.
