Burton Weil Scholars - Undergraduate

The Weil Scholars program is an initiative that attracts and empowers the best and brightest students like you to achieve their dreams, no matter how big! This signature program offers an unprecedented opportunity to fund academic pursuits throughout your degree through a generous renewable scholarship. Scholars participate in UofM’s hands-on experiential learning within a supportive cohort of their peers, both in and out of the classroom. This environment fosters a sense of community, provides additional resources as needed and encourages innovation.

  • Cohort events and co-curricular activities

The Weil Scholars program is possible by Burton Weil, a University of Memphis alumnus with a deep passion for improving the City of Memphis by empowering its future leaders. His generous support for academic excellence will help the University and its students ascend to new heights.

Criteria for selection:

  • Applicants must have submitted a current year FAFSA.
  • Minimum requirements:
  • 3.75 High School GPA
  • 30+ ACT
  • Must be eligible to apply (but not required) to the Helen Hardin Honors College
  • Qualify for and receive a UofM Merit Scholarship
  • Scholarship recipients must remain in good standing with the university to remain in the Weil Scholars program and receive the scholarship.
  • Scholarship recipients must commit to completing the Weil Scholars program requirements each semester to remain in the program and receive the scholarship.
