The UMAR Graduate Memorial Community Advancement Scholarship (Alumni Association)

Scholarship recipient(s) shall:
1. Be enrolled as a graduate student at the University during the academic year following receipt of the scholarship.
2. Describe in 1,000 words or fewer his/her exceptional accomplishments in coursework, research, and/or service that contribute to the linkage that advances knowledge and service with respect to community.
3. Provide a letter of recommendation of approximately 250 words or less by a person (UofM faculty, staff or other professional) describing through examples the candidate’s educational effect on and/or benefit to a group in a community setting with whom the applicant has partnered or participated.

Preference is given to First-Generation students with financial need as determined by FAFSA and/or dependent of current or past UofM employees. Applicants with distinct backgrounds and experiences, including hardships, will receive special consideration for the scholarship.
