The UMAR Undergraduate Memorial Community Advancement Scholarship (Alumni Association)

The recipient of the Scholarship shall:

1. Be a rising junior or senior undergraduate student enrolled full-time at the UofM with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
2. Describe in 200 words or less his/her exceptional accomplishments in coursework, research, and/or service that contribute to the linkage that advances knowledge and service with respect to community.
3. Provide a letter of recommendation of approximately 250 words by a person (UofM Faculty/Staff or another professional) describing through examples the candidate’s educational effect on and/or benefit to a group in a community setting with whom the applicant has partnered/participated.

Preference is given to First-Generation students with financial need as determined by FAFSA and/or dependent of current or past UofM employees. Applicants with distinct backgrounds and experiences, including hardships, will receive special consideration for the scholarship.
