James and Christopher Gholson Scholarship Fund (Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music)
This award shall be given to
- Undergraduate students majoring in Music with a concentration in Music Industry, or
- To undergraduate students majoring in Music with a concentration in Music Performance or Music Education with woodwind as the student’s primary instrument.
- In addition, the selected recipient(s) must show evidence of musical talent and potential for success evidenced by a successful audition or end-of-semester jury.
Preference will be given to students who:
- Individuals who have overcome substantial educational or economic obstacles.
- Attendance at minority-serving institutions or at other universities with which the institution has established a pipeline or feeder program.
- Applicants with distinct backgrounds and experiences will receive special consideration.
Award recipients may reapply for additional awards in subsequent years provided they are:
- In good academic standing and
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.5, and
- Continue to meet the above criteria.
