Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Application (College of Arts and Sciences) (DO NOT GO LIVE)

Each year, the University of Memphis awards a number of private scholarships thanks to the generosity of faculty, staff, alumni and other supporters of academically exemplary students. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship is one of these awards. The winner will be announced at the University of Memphis?? April 4th MLK Awards Ceremony. This application places the applicant??s name in consideration for the scholarship. The $500 scholarship, awarded to a University of Memphis undergraduate, will be available for the fall academic year. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and twelve (12) earned credit hours are required in order to be competitive with other candidates. If you have been selected for this award a letter or email will be sent to notify you.

Instructions:
1. Attach a 250-word essay (typed, double-spaced), which specifically describes what you have done on campus or
in the community to further good human relations. For the purpose of this award, ??good human relations????? means
fostering the values espoused by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
2. This application and your essay must be received by March 1, 2014. Bring completed materials to the front desk
of Scates Hall 107, The University of Memphis.
